SNCKC is a group of animal welfare organizations focused on humanely reducing pet overpopulation by offering free spay/neuter to pet owners.

In the Kansas City area, spay/neuter surgery for dogs starts at $200 or more at low-cost veterinary clinics and $400 to $600 or more at private clinics.

Animal shelters are at or beyond capacity and the demand for animal surrender and stray assistance is at overwhelming levels. Many pet owners want to do the right thing and get their pet fixed, but must prioritize paying for life’s necessities (rent, food, transportation, etc.) before they consider altering their pets.

Some pet owners are faced with the agonizing choice of keeping their housing or surrendering their pet because their landlord requires pets to be fixed. The result is unwanted litters and animals that end up abandoned, stray or in already overcrowded animal shelters.

Providing free spay/neuter services gets to the root cause of so many unwanted dogs and cats. The pets, pet owners, animals shelters and entire communities benefit.
